Exclusive Review: Ramón Allones Silver Jubilee Cigar
This is EGM Cigars very first review and a very exclusive one at that!
Only two days into the business trip in Hong Kong and EGM Cigars has been lucky enough to sample the only just released Ramón Allones Silver Jubilee Cigar.
Ramón Allones, one of the major brands in the Cigar Industry and one of the biggest brands in the history of Habanos, released the Silver Jubilee cigar as a part of the Regional Edition of 2017 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Pacific Cigar Co. The Pacific Cigar Company, founded by Sir David Tang, is an exclusive Asia Pacific distributor dedicated to providing the very best Cuban Cigars for this region and we can honestly say that they really have delivered the goods with this one.
Ramón Allones Cigars are famously composed of filler and binder tobaccos sourced from the Vuelta Abajo region in the Pinar del Río Province of Cuba where, according to cigar aficionados worldwide, the best tobacco leaves in the world are cultivated. The Ramón Allones Silver Jubilee Cigar constructed from the same remarkable blend displays the very same intense and complex flavours this brand is known for.

My first impression of the cigar is that it is an excellently rolled Silver Jubilee, perfectly packed with no plugs and a beautiful even density on the foot. The overall quality of the cigar’s construction is sure of things to come. An unquestionably impeccable cigar, with a silky smooth wrapper and no visible veins, I am already aware of how smooth this smoke will be.
The Silver Jubilee starts with an incredible creaminess and is already proving to be an unbelievably smooth smoke. There is a balanced bouquet of fine spices and white pepper on the tongue and some faint woodiness in the first draw. The warm cedar notes pick up a little more as we finish the first third complimented by creamy vanilla tones.
As I progress into the second third, there is white pepper in spades, as well as a touch of sweet citrus and hints of leather. Here, the cigar draw opens further and billows of aromatic, blue smoke begins to fill the room. The strength of this cigar is on full power and the nicotine levels make you wish that you had eaten a big meal beforehand!
The final third of this cigar is one that blew me away, the evolution from earth and peppery tones to a beautiful and rich dark chocolate finish with complimentary tones of under-roasted coffee was smooth and effortless. An absolute knock-out, this cigar was so well balanced from start to finish, with absolutely no harshness. Its flavours were well defined, persistent and very present. With flawless construction, consistency, and outstanding flavours this exquisite cigar will surely be one of the most sought after cigars of 2018.
Final Rating: 98/100
- The best cigar I have smoked this year, Ramon Allones, I applaud you!
The Ramón Allones Silver Jubilee Cigar will be available to buy online from our store very soon, so be sure to keep checking our website. Whilst you wait I can recommend a similar cigar such as the Diplomaticos Bushido Cigar (Ex. Asia Pacifico 2014) or one of our current favourites but very different the Cohiba Behike 52 Cigar.
